In the flickering light
Just like a candle waiting to be lit
without you I could not function, unfit.
Just a centerpiece, the center of me
yearning for the chance to show what you’d see
if only you would let your light transmit.
You are a flame - the darkness you omit,
so why in darkness do you best acquit?
Without your existence I cannot be:
Just like a candle.
Melting as you bore and dissolve my grit
your presence whittles away my spirit.
I wither, yet never can I be free.
In my quiet flickering I must cease
just like a candle.
