In the Mirror

This woman in the mirror stares blankly at me,
I can tell she is ashamed of what she's
Grown to be,
With a sad look in her eyes she yearns to break free,
But with so much guilt she's unable to see
Everytime she's been faced with a little hope,
She's turned to leave
The life she's been living is not what it used to be
Throughout the years,
The shames piled up into one big heap
It's gotten so big, she's in too deep
With so much guilt her knees go weak,
But being stubborn,
A failure she refuses to keep
No longer drowning I'm hoping she'll breathe,
Because the woman in the mirror,
That woman, is me.
