In the rain

I feel no peace with a cold hand
I feel at peace with a warm hand
I read the crease of an old hand
I feel no peace with cold eyes

No amount of clouds can change the way I feel about rain
In a blue sky I still hear the rain
Rain is like a static through a broadcast that we all receive
As a kid, rain was always in my way
There was no way around it
So I treat rain like I treat my life

I just close my eyes
I run through it
I run to wherever I'm going
It doesn't matter if I have someone with me
Or if I'm running alone
I get to where I'm going
Through this rain

I don't know how I feel when I see people with umbrellas
They must feel so comfortable
I'm no longer at mercy of the rain

I see no peace in a cold hand
