In The Sky

A thousands lights in the sky.
Lost in the wind they continue to fly.
Billions of eyes look and gaze.
Of a thousand lights that part their ways.

Mother once told me of the tale.
A thousand lights that set and sail
Where they go.
We'll never know.
If we follow.
Our hearts will hollow.
A thousand lights lost in shadow.

A thousand lights in the sky.
Daddy said that Mommy will cry.
I want to find where they go.
Daddy said in time you'll know.
For now my child it's time to grow.

So here I am ninety nine.
So tired and weak all the time.
I close my eyes.
And with goodbyes.
There I see.
In front of me.
A thousand lights in the sky.
Lost in the wind I begin to fly.
