In the Spring of Our Hearts

I liken my love for you to
A garden of myriad flowers
Whose charm and grace
Are not mere reflections of
Color, shape or fragrance alone
But of the very seed of each
Kindly planted and sowed
With roots firmly reaching
The depths of the earth
Growing with every bud
Blooming with the brightest petals
Attracting the butterflies and bees
Or the birds and squirrels
That come to visit us
Singing, dancing, laying with us
On our bed of roses
And dandelions and tulips
Whose sacred silence
Commands the winds to blow softly
That even the weeds and the grass
Sway in cadence with our song

I liken my love for you to
A garden of myriad flowers
Whose life is agnostic of time
Fading only in the Winter of our minds
But blossoming eternally
In the Spring of our heart
