In this great nation

In this great nation

In this great nation
How can it be?
In this land of the plenty
And the home of the free
That one in five children
Go hungry each day
This is a heart wrenching scenario
We need to make go away.

In this great nation
How can it be?
In this land of the plenty
And the home of the free
That many of our Vets
Both tired and poor
Tonight will rest their weary heads down
On a cold cement floor
They’ve fought for our freedom
And deserve so much more.

In this great nation
How can it be?
In this land of the plenty
And the home of the free
That American made products
Are harder to find
It’s definitely time
We bring American made pride
Back into America’s stores once more.

In this great nation
How can it be?
In this land of the plenty
And the home of the free
That we can send other countries financial aid
Yet we’re unable to make
Our own country’s deficit
Go away.

In this great nation
How can this be?
