In Your Hearts Forever: A Soldier’s Prayer

I appreciate the jesters,
so when you lay me to rest.
Just know I did my best.
To protect this country that I love,
and only know that I look down,
down from Heaven above.
And always remember.
I'll be sending you all my love,
through this tethered vest I wear,
remembering the good times we shared.
and for you to know that I wasn't scared,
scared at all when the Lord called me home.
'Cause He knows where I belong,
in your hearts forever.
So don't cry for me.
Just rely on the memories,
and when that glorious day had come,
come when I went home to be with the Lord,
to that mansion up above.
I will always be, in your hearts forever,
with love, soldier from above.
