Indestructible Mother

Like a heart that will break, like a fall that changes everything,
It became clear to me, that everything happens for a reason
It was too much to take, as it was my heart that began to sting
I don't know what to be, as my mood is like the season

From the moment life began, it was easy to see,
As you held my hand, that you wanted me
We couldn't be apart, we needed one another,
As I have your heart, as you have mine Mother

The day I thought it was goodbye, was the day I couldn't cry
Then you stayed strong, you stayed very long
As time began to tick, later on you got sick
I didn't know what to do, it was hard to imagine losing you

As Heaven is delayed, I'm glad you stayed

This Poems Story

I recently had my mom go through a major heart surgery. I was worried for sure that this was it. After a trip and fall on a wheelchair ramp, while I was the age of two, she completely broke her spine. It was hard to watch her struggle all these years as she held on for my three older brothers and I. This poem is dedicated to the most amazing mom in the world. She did it all by herself. Now that she conquered it, all I can say is I'm glad she did.
