Infinite Distance

I turn my wondering head and look
Upwards, to the blurry sky
Feel a pallid wind coat my skin
Every inch, a feeling thin

I take a step back;
Draw back a red, velvet curtain
Met by no breeze, no sun
No spray, no wind

I close my failed eyes and hide in a dark
A broken dark, filled with color
Virtual dots that I can never hold
Taunting pictures of what I've seen and held
Stuck between two fields
Stretched, thanks to your rope

I turn my wondering head back to you
Staring at your marks,
You are a feeling I have called "friend"

I seek to jump into beyond
To feel a golden breeze,
to open new doors and windows

May god(s) grace us with these doors,
May we feel, in our bloody bones
