Oblique, I stood, I dared to dream,
at first surreal, but then obscene.
Chaotic mess that lingered on,
my will it bent, to break, not strong.
A slippery slide from a broken vein,
a moment of touch and I'm whole again.
Floating forward as almost subdued,
temporarily, completely, changed in mood.
Riding a wave as the feelings begin,
closed eyes but seeing, so warm within.
Body awash with a vivid storm,
emotions cascade, I'm no longer forlorn.
Hours they pass, forever in haste,
this is what happens after my taste.
Before it's apparent I sense the end of the ride,
heart beats faster and faster and feeling subsides.
Soon I crash land, back down to earth,
but somehow it's worth it, no matter how much it hurt.
The sense of this feeling it slowly ends,
but I think, no, I know, I'll do it again.
