Inner Light

Our world is foul and full of despise,
Where friends are nothing but devils in disguise,
Where selfishness shines in selfless eyes,
Where truths are broken, and brazen are lies.

With all this deception and malice in air,
With all this confusion in knowing what's fair,
We are getting dragged into an unseen lair
Of utter destruction, completely unaware.

With the end of the prolonged fight
Between the mighty darkness and flickering light,
Shall come the horrors of a long night,
Sinking us all in an incredible plight.

But deep down we haven't lost our sight.
Deep down we know what is just and right.
By rekindling the inner flames of light,
We still have the power to win this fight.

Let our conscience rule and dictate.
Let it rain embers on this callous fate.
And knowing that darkness can never touch the sky,
We shall walk again with heads held high.
