Before you shoot consider my words that I pour.
This shouldn't be my fate,
I've barely spread my wings far enough to soar.
Although I stare down the barrel of your gun
Please hear me out before you shoot
My life's barely started; I'm not done!
Please whatever you do don't put my words on mute.
I understand you may have problems at home,
And I get you may struggle with your own things.
But that's no excuse for you to roam,
Around this place with a gun you bring.
You don't even know my name,
Perhaps that would help you second guess.
Before my body you maim,
And you put me down to rest.
My name is innocence,
And my life has barely begun.
Perhaps you'll rethink this for an instance,
Before you shoot me with that gun.
