INNOCENCE

A girl chased a butterfly
Stung her finger on a bee
She picked all the flowers
From underneath the trees
She jumped in puddles
And soaked in the sun
She gave her heart and often won
Then she had to get up and run
The world was too heavy
Her heart was too hurt
She didn’t realize
It would be thrown in the dirt
She just wanted to share her light with the world
She didn’t want them to take it.
