Insecurities

she put her hands around her waist
hoping to feel thin
her skin traced by fingers
trying to find herself within

she digs her fingernails
in hope to get to her heart
but it still beats and never fails
her soul doesn't feel like a part

her anxiety
is like a mosquito whining in her ear
but then the mosquito leaves silently
after a while so does the anxiety disappear

fireworks exploded in those bright eyes
she felt free and unbound
caffeinated laughter and sleepy nights
all her fears drowned

she put her hands around her waist
not hoping to feel thin
her insecurities erased
finally found herself within
