Insecurity

Insecurity
You find me
When I need myself most
Things don't go my way
People say what they say
You're a parasite and I'm your chosen host
Beat me down and crush me
I look in the mirror and don't like what I see
You never go away
People tell me things that are good
Listen to them? I know I should
But instead I listen to what you say
Insecurity what you say isn't true
But you don't care do you?
It makes no difference as long as I'm hurt
You feel as though you must
Beat me to dust
And make me feel lower than dirt
Lucky you are
With not an emotional scar
But you deal them out to everyone else
You've convinced me not to try
That saying I'm stable is a lie
Making me put down myself
