Insidious

The fist in my stomach makes itself known
My familiar friend returns
Once it's greeted, it runs to my chest
Settling and calling it home

The path is cryptic and steps are faith filled
With each one the temperature grows
If I stay I'll be frozen in fire
My insidious friend unstill

The expected relief is just a fool
The only way out, is through
The only way out, is through
