Interlude

The torrent of day washes up all the silt
that had been lingering in the margins of doubt.
The gray gust spills over the street
like sudden remorse or a sack of pearls.
The tower of the sky shudders
with the pulse of its vein of sorrows.
And you listen, listen, listen,
until with a sigh the sun cracks the egg of Heaven.
