Intertwined

We sit at the lake's edge
my daughter and I
all wrapped up
comfy-cozy
an ethereal blanket of
down
cast her goldenrod of dreams
out into the
waters of tomorrow, waters that
flow black
in the twilight.
She looks up at me
deep obsidian pools
shimmering starshine and moon
sparkle, just
below the surface
her celestial eyes
omniscient,
I see the I that i aspire to be gazing back at me.
"I love you to the moon, Mommy."
"I love you to Infinity, My Angel."
She shivers, snuggles in
closer still. Essences
Intertwined.
Ego loves her because she is mine.
I love her because she is me.
