Inundating

How am i supposed to keep
My head above water
When i never learned
How to float
How am i supposed to wait
For someone else to save me
When my vision is bare
How am i supposed to breathe
When i continue slipping under
How am i supposed to live
When you’re dragging me
Down to your lair
Forged from flames
And while bitter and crisp water fills my lungs
it's still not enough to replace
The burning of your hands
Devastating my body
I never examined this depth
Why did i never think to look
Before i let go
Just to fall
Right back into your jaws
Overfilling with jagged teeth
Piercing the skin of my remains
