Invasion

You come into my mind
Invade my sleep
Touch my fingers
Stroke my cheek.
Whispers of love in my ear
Down my face a single tear.

I cannot speak, can only stare
At you before me--golden hair.
Arms outstretched and opened wide
Do so surely find me inside.
Though standing like this together
Is still one step apart.
Now I long to be as one
Heart caressing heart.

Now I believe, now I can feel
What I thought to be illusion
And constant kisses thus exchanged
Do only breed confusion.
Everything so real, that I shout your name
And violently awake, my mind not yet in place
But an incessant flood of tears running down my face.
