Wasting my body away

I take two more steps.

The ground is sinking, sinking

And i’m falling, deeply, madly

Into a rage.

New fresh anger for everything

That surrounds me

And everything I can’t see.

Inside me is a rasping

Dry screaming voice

Saying STOP over

And over

As my body is as calm

As autumn leaves falling

Dead to the ground to be

Stepped on by strangers.

Crumbled under the soles

Of big thumbing

Feet. I am a gust

Of air

Squeezing through the cracks

Trying to escape

Running through the trees

The rocks

The buildings

The people

And I will keep wasting

My body until

It’s dead with the leaves

Being crushed in death

As in life.
