Iron Rope

There is a rope that connects us
It started off a thin string
Barely half an inch
But grew stronger with every kiss
And longer with every I love you

It can withstand every storm that heads our way
And all the villains with sharp blades
Who try to keep us apart

It may tie us together
But neither of us are trapped
For love has made us iron strong
That's why I’m not afraid to leave
Because If I lose my way
I can always follow this rope back to you

On my way I will see our past displayed
I will notice the spots where the rope had started to fray
It will remind me that we aren't perfect
That we both have made mistakes
But despite those faults the rope will continue on
And show me what we can overcome

No matter how deep the cut
I will continue to follow this iron rope
All the way home to you
