Irrelevant and Gigantic

Wild elephants run amok on
58th street,
Disturbing the gravel
From its slumber underneath the
Dualing lights that compete for
Reverance

The great mammals of my mind
Are desperate for a tight rope Walker
To return their tusks from the
Immortal jellyfish so they may thrust
Their ivory into the metal door
Of an empty warehouse where
Warm blood runs cold

I dream of prodigious rings of
Ivory shucked like ears of corn,
Paving a path for a view beyond
The trees -
A place with wild elephants
Running amok on 58th street
