Island in the Distance

The world is waiting
yet my head is stalling -
the doors are open
but my heart is closed;
I'd crack the shells
suffocating my chances
but the waves crash in to
carry me home.

I long for the vision,
a mirage in the distance,
to grant me the given
God right that He stole;
I've flown from sly beckons
where I sought from high heavens
the relief from this ship that I
sunk long ago.

An island in the distance
should escape it's resistance
to salvage me so helplessly drowned
in my soul;

For the waves that come crashing
on the next storm-struck shore
will reveal the rain dripping from
my battle-scarred bones.

This is my new home.
