It Hurts

We try to make sense of certain things in our life
We try to make sense of our losses
We try to validate our burdens
But underneath it all is fear
And uncertainty
And rage
But deep down
We just want to see our problems burn

But we're afraid of the light
Because it'll show what truly lurks within the darkness
So we let our tomorrows be hung out and left to dry
Decided in the hands of uncompromising men
And unwilling men
While we sit in our inevitable nothingness
That only fuels our rage
And hope that someday we catch fire
Happy that we finally get to burn
