It Starts with Me

Everything I want I believe starts with me
The desire to want it and the dedication to achieve
I don't hang onto coattails but onto faith and believe
For it is written, that whatever ye ask for ye shall receive
So I put down my childish mentality and I cast it aside
I pick up His rugged cross, ready to walk each and every mile
I put my hand in His wounded hand, asking Him to lead and to guide
To run this race with me, step by step and side by side
For this race is not for the swift, but those who can endure
Those with a mind like Christ and a heart that is pure
Those who pray, those who fast and toil till sweat pours
For there shall come a night when man can work no more
So if I wish to make it, I must trust Him and let it be
For I'll have no one blame, since it started with me
