It Takes A Little While

It Takes A Little While

It takes a little while, often it takes your time
All the while riding backseat, working on that rhyme
It comes in bursts, it comes in waves
The sensation teaches you what your heart it craves
For bible says do not follow
For the heart its deceitful, for its hollow
My mind it doesnt stop
Goes way back when the roads were hot
The body wakes, those feet hit the ground
Thinking about my mother, thinking about her frown
Thinking about my father, his expression, his tone
I hadent had it a while a place you call it home

It takes a little while, it takes a little time
Riding shotgun working on that rhyme
I seen it all to clearly, i felt it hit in waves
They say i have issues, well infact i have many in ways
I dreamt of a better tomorrow
My heart it grew so hollow
My mind it couldnt take
Anymore bare mending, for cutting shards each pieces it takes

Everytime i feel closeness, a teenie tat of love
Here the shattered remnants, breaking here comes
You brought me up, you shot me down
I lye tathered, broken on the ground
Been so many years
Hit the woods, have some beers
Only God he delivered me
He pulled my chin up, got me on bending knee

Remaining in a valley of shadows, looking for the light
Once again the darkness begins to fade
For in this morning I found my day
For in this moment I looked up instead of all around
God he got me, head held high, feet on the ground

It takes a little while, often it takes your time
All the while driving working on that rhyme
It comes in bursts, it comes in waves
The sensation teaches you what your heart it craves

To a better tomorrow, to a better today
Your full of magic never let it fade away
Your heart doesnt know how not to care
Keep on shining, keep on rhyming we see you there
