It’s All Downhill

Downhill is faster
Yet the memories are clear
Oh where are my glasses?
And so gray my hair!

Can't read the menu
Did I take my pills?
Seems all's in a fog
After cresting that hill.

It's going to rain
So say my knees
Don't have a job
So I can do as I please

But the garden needs tending
And the cat needs a pet.
Ah the smell of those lilies
I can never forget.

I listen to music
On a machine I don't get
Do I click on the red dot?
Oh, dear, I forget.

So I sit on the front porch
And watch the world go by
And like James Taylor said,
"It's a lovely ride."
