It’s difficult to breathe

Its difficult to breathe, whatever the colour of your skin
and there’s a fever brewing from the feelings within
aches of resentment of repression and pain
coughing out vitriol whilst protesting again
you can wear a mask but you can’t stop the spread
this disease is rampant and is in many a head
lots have lost their sense of taste and smell
of respect and reason in this living hell
so for the sake of mankind brothers unite
there’s another enemy we all need to fight

Its difficult to breathe, whatever the colour of your skin
and when the fever and cough begin
it may just be too late
this virus doesn’t discriminate
black or white, yellow or pink
we're in the same boat, swim or sink
fortunately the lifeguards don’t see what colour you wear
they put their lives on the line to give you care
so bend your knee for those bending their backs
to them all lives matter when the virus attacks
