It’s Never Forever

I gave you my heart.
Without knowing you would depart,
Who am I to be fooled by such deception?
I should've never fallen for your charm
I should've never let my heart go unarmed.
Where did it all go?
You stole my hearts glow.
Forever lost in this game we call love,
Which was never meant for you to shove.
I thought I was so clever,
But it's never forever.

It was if a gust of wind caught me by surprise
As I listened to its whistling cries.
Fighting my way through,
Cold, alone and blue.
My strength slowly escaping me
Fighting for you to hear my plea
Falling to my knee!
Trying to trudge along,
But you were too far gone.
Left behind to fly
Only to have my heart die.
I thought I was so clever
But it's never forever
