It's been a year since we had our last laugh,

The days rolled by, the past was past.

I still remember the last grin given.

Mom never knew what was tomorrow.

Everyone was so elated to see me walk.

Everyday we have had to embrace the hardships,

Of being alone, and separated.

It's been a year since I have gone off to college,

Which dawns on me, you never saw me leave.

Mom still cries every day, would you believe?

Someday that will all be history, we will all be together.
