Ivory And Ebony

The light smooth touch of ivory and ebony that
the fingers elegantly dance on; producing vibrant sounds that are
the most aesthetic to the ear.

The sounds seem like a roller coaster ride from
each diminuendo to each crescendo.

The swift finger movements from note to note bounce
gracefully like a gazelle galloping through the field.

And then suddenly the pinky and the thumb begin to drift.
They travel in opposite directions to complete the octave stretch.

As I come to the last measures of the piece,
I gently play the arpeggios
that sound like calm waves of the ocean.

And finally the right foot moves over to the right pedal
to sustain that last pianissimo chord.

These are all of the pleasant feelings I get
when playing piano.
