Jet Black Crow

The rain pours down, in an isolated little town
Its cascading droplets drowning out every sound
Every person lacking in happiness and grace
Tears constantly falling from their face
For there's a jet black crow, droning on and on and on
Up above their heads, droning on and on and on

They stay inside all day, depressed
Tears falling down, now wetting their chest
Those melancholy people
Always living in fear of the evil
That lays inside the jet black crow, droning on and on and on
Up above their heads, it's still droning on and on and on

The people know everyone shares the same fate
That they will never escape from all the hate
They all want and deserve our pity
In the sad, lonely, weeping city
For the jet black crow is droning on and on and on
Up above their heads, droning on and on and on

This Poems Story

I am thirteen years old and I have been writing ever since I was old enough to write. I love to write poems and fictional stories, alongside my beloved dog, Peanut. In my free time, other than writing, I love reading and horseback riding. I have an older sister, Victoria, and my super supportive mom and dad. One of my favorite poets is Edgar Allan Poe. His famous poem, "The Raven," inspired my poem, "Jet Black Crow." Lastly, I couldn't have started writing without the support of my two best friends, Yuna and Abby.
