Joan of Arc

I want to be your Joan of Arc
With shield and sword held high
To keep at bay the dwindling days
And ever-darkening skies,

To drive away the shadows
And beckon forth the sun
To cast out all your rising fears
To count this battle won.

But if I falter, if I fail
To stop the coming tide
I will stand watch, faithfully
And never leave your side.

And God will cast his eye
Upon your beauteous face
And bless you with His love
And fill you with His grace.
