I sit at my sewing machine day after day
Making cotton masks to give them away
It’s too late for him, he was so young
Just 36 but his time had come
The loss is immeasurable, the pain so deep
A wife and three boys with only memories to keep
The needle rises and falls
Fabric runs through my fingers
No matter how many I make, the sadness lingers
