I am wind and water,
I am earth and sky,
The only things that bind me here
To this place and time
Are skin and bones,
Heart and lungs,
Thoughts and emotions.

The birds circle,
I hear their cries.
The Buddha taught me
Not to be attached
To longing or belonging,
Hope or fear or ownership
Of my things, my family,
My skin and bones.

Come, journey with me
Back to the wind and water,
Back to th earth and stars.
We shall mingle and expand,
Give up pick and choose,
Win and lose,
Before and after,
And even now!
