Just a Metaphor

We're just a metaphor, see:

We can be who we are
And we are what we see
But we're not who we want
Like the others can be

So let's put down our screens and our orbital means
And get back to the things, let's talk just you and me

If the longer the song means the best it can be
Then goddamnit I'm sick of the media scene
I just want to go home and make home what I've seen

But still something is wrong 'cause I'm not chasing dreams
I'm just stuck in a song but I'm not where I seem
So I'm lost in a bong like a movie with weed
Call me Cheech but not Chong 'cause I'm still on my feet

But I'm not me
I'm not me, I'm not me, I'm not me

But I'm close, and that's all I can be
Til the day comes around and I seize what I see
