Just Another Day

Sitting on a park bench, watching the world go by
Reliving every lie
Remembering when your soul left your eye

The sun is shining & the flowers are blooming, yet none are noticed
We’re born & loved
Formed & forgotten
Yet life is enticing

The beauty in what we see is enough
The beauty in fame is enough
The beauty in fortune is enough

Yet, a thought, fame leads to a nightmare
Fortune leads to bankruptcy
What we see is deceiving
And everyone leaves once we die

The sun still shines
The flowers still bloom
And insignificant things bring joy to a hopeless life

While you wallow in misery the world goes by
While you sit on the bench your life says goodbye
As the world goes by
