Just Another Fear
The chimes escalate from low to high.
My child has disappeared from sight.
The entire park is empty,
just a cynical sway to the shade.
Darkened clouds are rolling in.
In panic, I am screaming for him.
All I find are his sandals next to the sandbox ...
My body wants to drop.
Rain pierces the ground,
as if to silence any remaining sounds.
My eyes are burning in this flurry.
Everything has turned to blurry.
