Just Friends

The memories are so tender, obviously picturesque
The days when the eggs of love hatched in a nest
They opened and out came two beautiful chicks
Full-hearted maturing offspring from one egg sit
As I grew for you, your love was returned
And the yoke we began became instantly firm
Yet came the night we began our first flight
As I tried to keep up, i lost you from sight
And so we divided, flew in separate winds
And all I remember are the memories within
We shared the same love, and from one egg hatched
No doubt we at one time had no other match
So each day birds fly, I gasp and watch closely
For where they possess virtue, I see you mostly
