Just Got My Feet Wet

Just got my feet wet
Having not a clue
Pretending I knew, nonchalant too
Just got my feet wet with you!
Hesitant to let you in
Stick around my friend
Should have jumped in
Instead, just got my feet wet
Over my head, oh, life's dread!
Splashed around inside your soul
Undiscovered treasures I didn't know
From depths beneath, a well untapped
A pleasure finding, a happenstance!
Wanted to take the plunge
Submerse myself in lovers' fun
Kept the key, locked the door
Just in case I had to run!
Felt a draw, a sweet embrace
Hard to tell and read your face
Night of peace, a safe, secure place
Or a lover's tempest
Competing with life's race!
Just got my feet wet
Imagined an arbitrary romance
More than expected, never regretted
A serendipitous chance!
