Just Me

I am who I am and make no excuse,
I chose not to continue on the abuse.
I was determined to stop the family dysfunction,
before it meant my own family's destruction.
I did this all by myself, with no help at all-
even though you can't fathom that call.
I am different from you, I don't think the same;
I am not caught up in jealousy and shame.
I just chose to be the change that I needed
and don't need from you to feel you are cheated.
We make our own course through our lives-some good, some bad-
don't chastise me because you are sad.
I am happy enough with the Me who I made;
now, go out and find the You who you crave!
