Ka Pua

A vivid field of blossoms, petals, stems, and leaves
Brilliant fresh colours, rustling together in the wind
Like a dream, regal flowers, singing in harmony
Swish, rustle, snap
The florist stands to admire his work
Pink, violet, green, yellow, blue
Gathered together to form an unforgettable array of petals
Clean and new but soon to wither away,
Losing its fragrant aroma,
Its magnificent colour
A sad ending to an elegant flower
Once pretty and sustaining,
A soft thump of the sweet petals hitting the dirt
Brown, and filthily, no home for a flower like this
