Keep Your Dark Thoughts

I ask you to listen,
I ask you to adhere,
As I make my point,
My words so short,
My poem queer.

A light to the storming,
A beating to the heart,
With breath comes new life,
With the future,
A brand new start.

Some say reason is false,
Some forbid a small hope,
All must end and die,
No one can miss,
This steep, steep slope.

With vilest intentions,
With the coldest of minds,
They’ll sweep away all,
And in the end,
Forever bind.

They have all of their ways,
They believe they are content,
There’s no love or peace,
Death, by nature,
Is abhorrent.

I am not so certain,
I think of something more,
Keep your dark thoughts,
What you do think,
Is empty lore.
