Killing Me

I love you so much
Your fine red, white and blue body
Is more beautiful than all others combined
But you keep punching me in the face
You are killing me man!
So I make it home
After fighting with you all day for bread
Then I open my door to see the most gorgeous brown face
But you killing me too
I can't catch a break!
Then that obese monster, Poverty
Sits at my table eating everything he can
You killing me man!
So every single night I kneel and pray
Jesus Christ, please, give me life for tomorrow
They kill me over and over
I should be dead except for Your grace
God save me from these killers
Anoint my head with oil
Prepare the table before me in the presence of my enemies
I run to the Promised Land!
I strive for Your peaceful place
