Kindred Spirits

We're from harvests of two seperate seasons.
We were sown of dissimilar seeds.
Different elements made up our soil.
Distant skies watered each of our needs.
We learned living from two different teachers.
Followed two individual texts.
We set goals and pursued them uniquely.
Wrote our own lists of joys and regrets.
Now we walk and cast only one shadow.
Wildflowers of one perfect shade.
In the space of a heartbeat, familiar.
Awed with circumstance yet, unafraid.
To each other so openly tender.
So alike in our dreaming of life.
Growing closer in mind and in body.
Seeking comfort for each others strife.
