Knock at My Door

Yesterday death came knocking at my door
I looked through the peephole and did not like what I saw
I secured my locks with my keys of faith
And did not answer as I stood there and waited
It had to have known I was not alone
Hearing the many voices of pray, asking that it just leave my home
It finally decided to go away
I thanked the lord for giving me another day

Can't believe the battle I fought time after time
A disease that has claimed so many lives
Notice the change it has made in me
Constantly I think about what could still be
Everyday, however, is a blessing and a new take on life
Remission has given me the will to survive.
