Lack Of Mankind

I strived for my existence
Your thought of killing
An unborn innocent
This is the first time
I felt outraged
Why am I not being loved?
Why my birth is not cherished?
Conservative minds, eyes blind
I was not needed in family
Their pride would have a mind
If I have born
But I was saved
By my guardian angel
But still, my heart reminds
Lack of mankind

I was again frozen
But this time; my education
My family against me
“Would their pride deprived
With a bag on my shoulder”, I replied
This is the second time
Hands shackled tightly
To imaginary ring
Of reputation and ego
Conservative minds, eyes blind
Pulling me away
From my rights
Again I was saved
By my guardian angel
But still, my heart reminds
Lack of mankind

With me growing, concerns increased
Deep rotted cruelty
Of tradition and culture, Dowry
Is this your concern?
Strange brutal ritual
Forced for gifts and money
This is the third time
My self-respect, pride was hurt
Everything achieved, shattered
Conservative minds, eyes blind
Pushing me to pay the bribe
What for? Healthy lifestyle?
Strong enough to deal with it
This time guardian didn’t stand up
I guess they knew
I am enough
But still, my heart reminds
Lack of mankind
