Langston on a plane

I ve known killers
I ve known killers marched by countries, crusading, lasting centuries

My heart turns full like those killers.

I laid with life
locked in chains,
floating, laid in bellies of
shaped wood cross a sea

I hung with a breath,
closed by rope
made from cotton in a tree.

I walked down blocks and heard whistles where freedom never rings.

I watched Obama sip tap water poisoning our babes,
and men pitted at another while only seeing slaves.

I ve known killers

repenting soulful killers.
My heart turns full like killers
