Language Barrier

He came to you empty handed
and you sewed the world into his palms
He came to you heartless
so you gave him you're own
He came to you speaking hollow words
and you echoed the word love into every sentence that left his mouth
But all he ever really wanted
was to see your clothes on his bedroom floor
And you fell for it
You gave him everything
thinking it would be enough
But men like that don't know enough
They only know how to write half written love letters
They only know how to kiss you
after midnight
when the sun has gone down and the world is quiet
But we were living in the city that never slept
and i wanted him to kiss me,
in the morning,
the afternoon
and and all the hours inbetween
I wanted love to be the language
we both knew how to speak
